During the nice walking tour in the Old Town the guests can not only learn about the history of Bratislava but also why our national dish “Bryndzové halušky” actually comes from Middle Slovakia and why the Slovaks like to drink Wine and Beer but are still Europe’s No. 1 in drinking spirits. In the Brewery Monastery they are producing own beer but also many slovak delicacies like from grandma’s kitchen. The guests can try to prepare a typical slovak speciality “Pirohy” with the local cook. It will certainly surprise, that everything is still hand made. A short cooking lesson in a playful form will inspire everyone who likes to learn and try new things. You will make dumplings filled with sheep cheese made from potato dough, cook it and then taste it in the restaurant together with some fresh beer from Monastery Brewery. Alternatively it is possible to prepare sweet strawberry dumplings.
We recommend to combine with: visit to the Primate’s Palace, which has experienced several historic moments and today offers a unique exhibition of royal tapestries from 17. century, entry to the St. Martin’s Cathedral, coronation church of 19 Hapsburgs. The more active ones can take stone stairs to the Bratislava Castle and experience the city on the palm of their hands or use Bratislava City Train to get there.
